About the festival

This is the road to our Sufi 11th Festival

Here comes that time of the year.

After last year’s unforgettable celebrations, with the new location in Kfar Hanokdim taking us to a new level and giving the festival refreshing and defining moments, the Sufi Festival is now opening a new decade of gathering and creation, returning to its new home in Kfar Hanokdim and inviting you for the 11th time, to the annual pilgrimage.

It has been over a decade that the Sufi Festival is growing, developing, breaking through and making waves by producing a rare and unique gathering that has become a phenomena, echoing vastly world wide.

The festival has created over the years an ongoingly expanding community that has been gathering once a year to celebrate the beauty, the music, the wisdom and the inspiration of the Sufi path.

This year we’re returning to Kfar Hanokdim- the biggest, most beautiful and impressive Khan in Israel. A real oasis, situated on the beautiful road between Arad and Masada, welcoming us with the ultimate conditions for the festival and for our people.

On the 27-29 of April, the weekend after the Israeli Independence day, the spring will bring us all to the desert, to gather up on the 11th time for 2 nights and 3 days of music, ceremonies, main events, workshops, friends, and all the people who make the Sufi festival what it is.

We’re truly excited to take off into this new decade, new year, and everything they will bring. It is pure happiness to imagine us all there together, touching moments of beauty, celebrating 11 years of togetherness.

See you there…

A few words from us…

 Beloved sisters and brothers
Here it comes… The Sufi Festival. We are out on this extraordinary journey again, a journey that takes off from the heart and all the way to the heart of the world.

In days of struggles, natural disasters, wars and conflicts, it is so easy for one to shut away, to stick to his own opinions and identity and separate himself from his or her brothers and sisters.
We choose to create again a space in which we will celebrate and deepen the huge inspiration that beauty, love and sincere aspiration for peace and cure, can bring.
The space of the festival is a safe and welcoming space, a kind of tribal initiation, a gathering of a big tribe, that lifts on one weekend and spreads out its wings throughout the whole year.

Humans, musicians, movers, facilitators and teachers, creators and audience, changing together the channel in body and soul and pouring new meaning to everything that’s sacred to us. With sound, singing, quietness, content, and the languages of the area we call home.

In the powerful magical desert of Judea, in the mountains of the dead sea, a historical place and a natural phenomena. From here we send our invitation for elevation and sanctification.

Above the daily troubles, into the inner point, to the beloved, to the unity seen from everywhere you look….

About the festival

On the 27-29 of April, the weekend after the Israeli Independence day, the spring will bring us all to the desert, to gather up on the 11th time for 2 nights and 3 days of music, ceremonies, main events, workshops, friends, and all the people who make the Sufi festival what it is.

The Sufi Festival was created to give place to the Sufi path, the art and the eternal wisdom of the heart, that had passed from one generation to the other for many years.

A place of gathering the community, of friendship, sharing and expression beyond time.

A space where music, dance and silence become a language.

We invite you to a rare musical journey, deep, wild and unforgettable, with over 15 live concerts hosting over 100 musicians from all over the world. Moving between 2 circular stages, the musicians will be surrounded by the audience from all sides. Every 2 hours a different show will begin, one following the other in a format that breaks the regular structures of performer and audience and recreating the space into a space of ceremonial happenings.

In the heart of the festival stands a unique gathering of spiritual and academic researchers, masterclasses with leading musicians and facilitators who have been walking on the path for many years.

Beyond all of that, the festival is really a gathering, a meeting, a pilgrimage, a community.

Between the workshops, the food, the desert, the space, the music and the quiet, something special is created among the people. We find ourselves looking at this wonder for the 11th time, astonished and moved, not really finding the words.

You are invited to experience it from the inside.
